Our Healthy 2 Year Old.

We haven't received McKinley's birthday party pics back yet.. so this will be the first of 2 blogs about our sweet girl turning TWO.  We feel so blessed- she is doing so great!  We went to our new pediatrician, and although she was not as thorough as the last one, I still feel like she did a great job. And I way impressed with her office staff, which means ALOT.  McKinley is 22 lbs, still in the 2%.  And is 31 inches tall, also in the 2%.  As the doctor said, she is very proportional.  We are not concerned where she is on the growth chart.. she is trending just as she should be.

She is right where she needs to be developmentally, as far as her motor skills are concerned.  She is behind in speech.. which we are well aware of.  I feel like we are being diligent to work on the areas that she needs some improvement, so she is not, hopefully, going to get too far behind.

McKinley is a very social child.  They have moved her up to the 2 year old class at school.  I was alittle concerned that kids would not want to hang out with her as much, because of her delay in speech and her inability to communicate with them.  But that does not seem to be the case.  Every time I pick her up, she is surrounded by a sweet little group of girls.

McKinley is a very happy child.  She loves to laugh and smile.  She has a great sense of humor.  She is also extremely strong willed.  From what I hear, this is mainly displayed at home.  She is more easy going at school.  She and Jackson truly love each other.  I love watching their relationship.

She loves to play outside, and would really love to be out there any time that she is awake.  We have taken her swimming at the pool we go to, a couple of times.  She loves it.  But she thinks she is really big.  Which is scary to me.  We are still working to find the right flotation device for our little girl.

McKinley loves to go to church and play with her friends.  She LOVES when any of her family members come over to see her.

Craig and I are so thankful for our McKinley. We are thankful for her health.  We are thankful for her sweet fun spirit.  And we can not wait to see how her personality continues to develop!
