Jackson's First Thanksgiving

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we went to Dallas to celebrate with my dad's side of the family! It was a great weekend!! We were able to go shopping for my mom's dress for the wedding, which was really fun. She is going to look really pretty!! It was fun for Jackson to be able to spend time with all of his cousins and aunts and uncles!
On Thanksgiving day, we went over to my brother and sister in law, Kurt and Amy's for Thanksgiving lunch. It was wonderful. I was able to help contribute by making the party water, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole. Yummy! The Smith's love traditions, so our Thanksgivings are full of them. Of course, this was Jackson's first Thanksgiving! He loved the sweet potatoes and the mashed potatoes, and of course loved the rolls! Uncle Kurt even gave him some of the inside parts of the cherry pie. Jackson LOVED it. LOVED it. What a great day!!
After we left Kurt and Amy's, we went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. We had a fun time playing with Jackson, looking at Black Friday ads and had a delicious salad for dinner. We sure missed Ward and Reese, but are glad they are having fun in snowy Alaska! We spent the night at Mom and Dad's with the intention of getting up early to go shopping. First of all, I was not very impressed with any of the ads, and then after we had a rough night with Jackson sleeping, we slept in. Poor baby boy, is SUPER congested and is cutting yet another tooth. Unfortunately for Jackson, every tooth he has cut, has been extremely painful. We still have SEVERAL more to go.
Then today after Jackson took a couple of good naps, his Grandma (Craig's mom), came over for dinner. Jackson was glad to see her again. It took him a little while to warm up, but then he was pulling up all over her and giving her kisses and his famous growls. It was a great night!

Jackson is sound asleep, and Craig and I are praying for a good nights rest. We need it. Tomorrow is another busy day, one of Craig's students from Hot Springs is dating a girl from Blanchard (random!), but he is in town, so we are meeting them for lunch! Jacob is wonderful! When we were leaving Hot Springs, he asked if he could be Jacksons "God father"... we dont really do that.. but it is still really sweet! So Jackson is excited to spend time with Jackson, and we are excited to meet Stephanie!

Hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving!!
